Summary of Monitoring Objectives:
On a rotating watershed basis, the Wetland Program is assessing wetlands to characterize their current ecological integrity, identify reference sites, stressors impacting ecological integrity, and develop BMPs to address stressors. The primary objectives is to provide resources to managers on how to protect and/or restore wetlands based on the stressors present on the lands they manage. The Wetland Program is also conducting a study to assess the effectiveness of wetland restoration projects for reducing nonpoint source pollutant in receiving surface waters.
