Summary of Monitoring Objectives:
The goals of this project are to: 1. Identify existing water quality exceedances for heavy metals in Elkhorn Creek. 2. Characterize the change in Elkhorn Creek water quality above and below the Elkhorn Mine & Mill site. 3. Quantify heavy metals concentration and variability in acid mine drainage. 4. Determine the degree and extent of heavy metals contamination in shallow groundwater wells alongside Elkhorn Creek.
